HIKING RAB

Enjoy the beauties of Rab!

All walks start from the old town of Rab, where, besides the walk through the town itself, you have several other interesting options. To the south, paths lead from the town along the sea all the way to the last houses in Barbat. To the north, the path runs along the sea under the defensive walls of Rab, all the way to the monastery of St. Euphemia, near the Kalifront forest. Don’t miss a walk through the park-forest Komrčar, located just near the town, a hidden refuge from the city heat, and a beautiful place for a stroll.

However, the true adventure begins outside the town, and there are three completely different areas worth mentioning and exploring:

LOPAR

At the northern tip of the island lies the peninsula of Lopar, with gentle hills that gradually descend to hidden sandy beaches, which can only be reached either via these paths or by boat, and not by car.

KAMENJAK

The entire eastern side, all of stone, most resembles the surface of the moon, and hides the most challenging ascents, up to the highest peak of the island Kamenjak, which is about 400 m above sea level, with beautiful view on Rab and islands around.

KALIFRONT

And finally, completely opposite to the bare stone, the western part of the island will delight you with one of the largest and most beautiful oak forests in the Mediterranean, and with kilometres of paths through this wild green landscape. Do not wonder whether to head towards Frkanj or Klifront, visit both of these forests, you will not regret it…
